The crossed-out wheelie bin on appliances means that, at end of life, they must not go in general waste but be collected separately as Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), so materials are recovered and harm to the environment and health from the substances they may contain is avoided.
Free “one for one” take-back
As the law requires (Legislative Decree 49/2014, art. 11), when we deliver a new appliance we collect the equivalent one it replaces free of charge. Select “Free old-appliance take-back” on the product page or in the cart and keep the appliance disconnected and emptied. A fixed air conditioner must already be removed: removal with gas recovery by an F-gas technician is quoted at installation.
Other ways to dispose of WEEE
You can take WEEE to your municipality’s collection centres. Very small WEEE (longest external side up to 25 cm) can be handed in free of charge, with no purchase required, at electronics shops with a sales area of at least 400 m² and at municipal collection centres. This is the “one for zero” take-back (Legislative Decree 49/2014, art. 11, para. 3).
Product prices include the WEEE management fee paid to producers’ collective schemes.
